On April 10th, local business leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors gathered at Altitude 15 in downtown Olympia for the Thurston Economic Development Council Investor Reception.

The event highlighted the continued growth of Thurston County’s business ecosystem and showcased the EDC’s efforts to support startups, innovation, and long-term economic development throughout the region.

Hosted inside the newly developed Altitude 15 food hall and culinary co-op, attendees heard from EDC leadership, local entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders about the importance of investing in local business infrastructure and keeping economic growth centered within Thurston County.

EDC Board President Malcolm Miller spoke about the county’s future potential and the importance of supporting businesses locally rather than allowing economic activity to leave the region.

The evening also featured remarks from Cher and Mike Harbach, founders of Altitude 15, who shared their vision for revitalizing downtown Olympia through community-focused business development and hospitality.

The reception served as both a networking opportunity and a celebration of ongoing collaboration between public and private sector leaders working to strengthen the local economy.
